Kerries Peeves

Why do people rip on the Duggar family?  They aren’t in debt.  They aren’t on public assistance.  They are raising kind, responsible kids.  Why is it anyone’s business how many children someone has?  I could understand it if they were on welfare for the last 20 years, but they haven’t been.  And if I could be half the mom Michelle Duggar is … my kids would be even better people than they already are.  She NEVER yells!  How do you parent like that?  I’m in awe of her.  That family has their crap together in so many ways.  They homeschool successfully.  They patiently teach their kids how to drive.  They teach their kids how to do chores and take care of themselves and others.  I know people with only ONE child who claim they don’t have the time to even play with their kid.

I can’t stand abuse of the English language.  I’m no expert here; I have no English degree.  I only have an Associate of Arts degree from community college, but I know how to speak.  Much of that you are just born with.  Among my word peeves:  axed instead of asked; “I would like to prepare a toast” instead of proposing a toast.  I’m telling you:  just watch a few hours of reality TV (especially the ones with chichi women in them, like the Housewives series) and you will hear all kinds of fun new (wrong) words and phrases!  I don’t know why I love watching rich women drop thousands of dollars on purses and shoes and then speak like they just walked out of the Quickie Mart.
